Heavenly light aptly describes the Fight Into Egypt window designed in 1932 by Charles Connick specifically for the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. It is a masterpiece so elaborately detailed that it contains 8,000 individual pieces of glass. Virtually all of the world’s major cathedrals consider the Flight Into Egypt a significant work and a great expression of their living faith. St. John’s Rose Window is one of the world’s most glorious contemporary examples of this theme that dates back to the Middle Ages.
